WordPress Performance Optimization (Freelance Work)
Our WordPress website requires performance optimization. While the site is live and functional, page load times are slower than desired, particularly on mobile devices. We are seeking a developer experienced in accurately diagnosing speed issues and implementing effective solutions, all while maintaining the site’s layout and core functionality.
We need someone to review the current setup, identify the most significant bottlenecks, implement targeted fixes, and clearly document the changes made.
Goals for this project:
- Improve page load speed on desktop and mobile.
- Reduce unnecessary front-end weight where possible.
- Review scripts, images, and style loading.
- Check for plugin-related performance issues.
- Preserve core design and existing site functionality.
- Provide a simple summary of optimizations completed.
Ideal background:
- Experience optimizing WordPress websites
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript performance basics
- Ability to work carefully on a live site or staging environment
- Knowledge of practical speed improvements rather than one-size-fits-all fixes
- Good communication and testing discipline
We welcome freelancers with a methodical approach who can prioritize impactful changes. If you have experience with Core Web Vitals improvements or front-end optimization projects, please highlight this in your application. Providing screenshots or before-and-after examples would be an advantage.
This should be a focused project, but there may be future work related to ongoing site maintenance, page improvements, and technical cleanup if we find the right person. The project budget is $1,100, which will cover the agreed-upon scope of work for an estimated 2–3 weeks.
